- My set up: A1200, external Smart Stor Plus hard drive, extra 2mb memory card,
- external floppy, bog standard portable T.V.
-
- I seem to have developed a strange problem, I hope someone can help. When I
- try to display an image using Personal Paint, Picview or Fastview all I get is
- a dark screen that looks a bit like an untuned T.V. image, with lots of
- horizontal lines that "roll" (believe me it is difficult to describe!).
- Sometimes you can vaguely see about nine little images of the picture in like
- a grid form.
-
- This problem doesn't seem peculiar to a particular datatype- it has happenend
- with gifs, iffs and jpegs. Strangely, if I load a picture in
- workbench's Multiview it displays OK. Unless, I display it with Multiview on
- its own screen-then the problem occurs again.
-
- I have tried drawing a picture in Personal Paint and saving it, then loading
- it and everything seems fine but the pictures that refuse to be displayed
- aren't new ones, I can't even display example pictures that came with Personal
- Paint. I haven't been fiddling with anything to change my setup, this problem
- just happened. It doesn't seem to have affected anything else, Workbench
- loads, the Internets OK (even displaying pictures on the Web) and games seem
- fine.
-
- Does any one have any ideas? - I'm not an expert with computers so please
- don't be too techie with answers though I'd be grateful for anything.
-
- If I can at least establish if it is a hardware or software fault that will be
- something - I've still got about six months of a 3 year warrantee left but
- I'll feel foolish getting someone to repair it if is a software fault.
-
-
- Thanks in advance for any help
-
- Matt.
